Metallurgical Fire Voluntary Exile is on repeat! Haissem has upended my expectations with this album. Whatever you want to label them genre-wise they do it all well. Favorite track: Voluntary Exile.

Warangelic What a gnarly piece of grim music. Haissem rules and so does everyone who listen to them. Favorite track: Gore Painted Vacuum.

SkunkBeatManiac Progressive Black/Death Metal where each composition is a collage of short compositions that has distinct rhythm and code progressions from each other. This strategy makes this album unpredictable and disfigured quality. This reminds me of Diabolical Masquerade but with occasional disharmonic riffs. It also has more atmosphere that ties everything together. Favorite track: An Inspiration For My Inner Carnifex.

Onanjath Unique, blackened melodic death metal. Massive grooves with fascinating twists!

Favorite track: Despising The Infidels.

bmurator Melodic black / death metal from the Ukraine. One man project so everything fits together perfectly. Fantastic guitar work & passion. What more could you possibly want?

H.L. Compared to the 2020 predecessor "Kuhaghan Tyyn" the 2021 album "Philosofiend" is less epic and although the songs are shorter, they are often not more catchy. The joy of playing is obvious anyway and recommendations as "Gore Painted Vacuum" or "Archetype of Malice" present some nice and intensive memorable passages. Friends of melodic black metal should at least check these two songs out. It is quite likely that you will enjoy it. Favorite track: Gore Painted Vacuum.
